ISR President’s column
Dear ISR members:
With much honor and a nice feeling of accomplished responsibility I have recently end my term as ISR President , proud that the goals that we faced together with the Ex com and staff were successfully fulfilled. Among those more relevant I would not forget to mention:
1- ISRQSA has been definitely installed as the main force on the matter working in close interaction with WHO, IAEA and other different continental and national Q&S campaigns. ISR webinars and educational activities on the topic were very active.
2- Launching of the Meet the ISR Program at Tunisia has been very successful and will be followed by new venues such as Egypt and Colombia in 2019.
3- Joining the start up of the Lancet Oncology Commission on Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine in a strong alliance with other medical societies.
4- The website was updated to a new interactive tool of communication adding new social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram that enhanced ISR visibility with an exponential growth of ISR followers worldwide.
5- The communications between ISR and country members was very active, and many National Radiological Societies joined or rejoined as country members: Belgium, Oman, Venezuela, Chile, Egypt among them.
I would like to thank everybody, inside and outside the ISR, that helped to accomplish these goals that we foreseen at the beginning of our running term. It is time to hand off the baton to the new ISR President -my friend Lluís Donoso- that will surely raise up the bar to further enhance the ISR mission.
Best wishes and a Happy New Year!
