The ISR-WHO Scientific Symposium on Systematic Screening for TB and the Role of Chest Radiography was a huge success. The WHO presented its updated guidelines for TB screening, which now include recommendations on the use of chest radiography and computer-aided detection (CAD) systems. The more than 460 participants from all over the world included radiologists, pulmonologists, radiographers and other related professions.

The Lancet Oncology Commission on Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine presents results from the first-ever comprehensive effort to quantify imaging and nuclear medicine resources worldwide. It highlights dramatic inequalities in access to these resources and calls for a global strategy to scale up access to imaging and nuclear medicine for cancer patients in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The ISR is proud and honored to be among the supporting organizations of the Commission.

Otha W. Linton, MS (1932-2020)
We have learned that former Associate Executive Director of the ACR, passed away on Monday, December 7th in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 88.
Over his tenure, Otha became fascinated with the history of radiology. His fascination ultimately led to two major projects that culminated his long tenure at the ACR. The first was to write a definitive anthology of the ACR's first 75 years, The American College of Radiology: The First 75 Years. The book was published in 1997 and is a must read for those interested in the College's history.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published a Rapid Advice Guide on the use of chest imaging in COVID-19. The guide provides health care professionals with recommendations on the appropriate use of different imaging modalities in COVID-19 cases to support diagnosis and patient management decisions, taking into account different settings around the world. The ISR provided scientific and technical assistance to support this important endeavor.

GO RAD is a new global outreach program developed by the International Society of Radiology. Through agreements with these cooperating major radiology journals, the GO RAD platform provides immediate open access to a limited amount of otherwise restricted access content, providing an electronic link back to the original on-line article, at the time of first publication.
