The ISR-WFUMB-WHO Webinar on Safer Maternal and Newborn Care – the Role of Ultrasound organized by the ISR, the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on September 14, was a great success.
The webinar featured high-level speakers from WHO, radiology, ultrasound, radiological technology and midwifery, among others, and took into account the situation in different areas of the world, including low- and middle-Income countries. The webinar was held in celebration of World Patient Safety Day (WPSD), which is commemorated annually on 17 September and focused on safety in maternal and newborn care this year.

The ISR collaborates with the WHO as an NGO in official relations, to facilitate the global endeavors to improve patient care and population health through medical imaging. Cooperation with WFUMB, another NGO in official relations with WHO, takes place through the ISR Quality and Safety Alliance (ISRQSA) and is centered around medical imaging safety issues.
We cordially thank all speakers and moderators and all of you who joined us on 14 September!
