Member Society Spotlight: Colégio Brasileiro de Radiologia

Founded in 1948, the Colégio Brasileiro de Radiologia e Diagnóstico por Imagem (CBR) is Brazil’s national organization representing radiology and diagnostic imaging. Through its regional societies and broad educational and professional activities, the CBR works to advance radiology through education, scientific development, professional standards, and advocacy.

Quality and patient safety are central to the organization’s work. Since 1992, the CBR has operated quality programs covering areas including mammography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Participating imaging services undergo evaluation and may receive CBR quality certification, helping promote consistent standards of care across Brazil.

The CBR also plays an important role in specialist education and continuing professional development, working with the Brazilian Medical Association to support specialist qualification examinations and professional standards.

The ISR is proud to count the CBR among its member societies and to work alongside radiological organizations across the Americas and around the world to advance education, quality, safety, and equitable access to imaging.
